First of all my apologies that yesterday
there was no report of the second day. I was honestly said to tired
to select the photo's and to write a short story.
The second day we got up again very early,
and after breakfast we got into our car for a visit to Yoshinori. Yoshinori had
last year an outbreak of the Herpes virus. The reason for this was
the temporary placement of a Koi from a friend in one of his ponds.
Luckily his parent fishes where not in this pond of unfortunate and
he got out of this without all to many problems. I therefore was
happy for him but also I was especially pleased because this Koi man
knows what Koi breeding is all about and how labour intensive he is
engaged with all this work.
Both of us with a smile on our faces we made an appointment and this smile stayed until I could shake hands
with him. Friendly as always he walked towards us and before we knew
it we had coffee sitting at a small table in his Koi house where
we were warmly welcomed and exchanged many greetings
I told him that
his Koi of the past year are very well received in the Netherland
and that
they developed very well with respect to body shape and growth. After that
we talked for an hour or so about “khv” in general and the many
steps to be taken to find appropriate methods to deal with this. Yoshinori
knows from his own bad experiences how careful one should be, especially
order and cleanliness play a prominent role for him. This was
clearly visible by the great care given to this. I would say that Yoshinori Tanaka
takes very well care about everything.

During this day I could only visit two breeders because of the long
time taken for the selection at Yoshinori. This was because of many
of his Tategoi where still together with the other Koi in the basins.
The largest part of the day was gone before we concluded this work.
So I would say see the pictures and judge yourself. After a warm
farewell I know one thing for sure; I will be back next year for a
new selection of Tategoi. With this thought we took the road to Marudoh.

Marudoh is specialized in Go Sanke, thus
here you can experience and see top quality Kohaku, Sanke and Showa. Not
cheap but after all you get the highest quality. Here I selected
some very beautiful
Kohaku of approx 65 cm. Especially one of them is a Koi of world
class. Also a large Showa with a superb white skin drew my special
attention. I just can say enjoy the pictures and determine for
yourself whether or not this quality.
